it means the only way your opponent should leave the game is to resign.
just leaving the game within 2 minutes without telling you is waist of your time.
there might be good reasons such as his computer suddenly restars

Maybe he just walked away or had connection problems. If he walked away instead of resigning, he violated the fair play policy.
Could be any of the following: (guess who learned to cut and paste )
Fair Play Policy
|
|
Chess.com encourages players to be kind and show good sportsmanship. Our Fair Play policy expects that players will not...
If your account is flagged for habitually breaking this policy, your play will be restricted, requiring you to wait 5 minutes between games (including aborted games). Tips to Avoid Aborting Games! Aborting games too often will temporarily suspend your ability to abort games. This means that if you cannot play, you will have no choice but to resign (or risk further sanctions described above, by abandoning your game or disconnecting). If you have to abort, then do so of course, but whenever possible, use the features available to minimize your need to abort chess games! Do not Abort games if your opponent will not move at the beginning of a game: The server will do it for you! On his or her turn, each player has 15-20 seconds to make their first move. If this does not happen, the game will be automatically aborted. This has a negative effect on the Fair-Play record of the player failing to move. (But if you hit Abort, it affects your record! It's best to be patient for a few seconds.) Do not Abort games to find preferred opponents: Restrict your challenges and/or filter the Seek graph instead! Under the "stall" category, Chess.com has rewritten the rules of chess so that you can't use all of your time to think about a move. Any more than 1/2 the total time of the game and the server will award the game to your opponent and send you a "fair play" warning. Outrageous, yes. Anything we can do about it, no.

Thanks for all the replies. I have noticed a small number of people walk away from the game when they are in a losing position and that is very annoying. I think that might have been the case here.
How did he beat you in 10 moves if he disconnected?
Maybe he disables chat to avoid getting rants from over zealous crazies... hey, you wouldn't know anyone like that would you? Someone who, for example, would be so upset over a loss that they post in multiple month old topics over nothing?
uneasyrider,
I've never disconnected intentionally and what would be the point: it's rude, you waste other people's time, you lose anyway and then annoy people to boot. In your case, I've only played you once, and as wafflemaster has so kindly mentioned, beat you in 10 moves.
I disconnect the chat to avoid distractions while playing.

how about explaining why you disconnect and disable the chat right when you start. don't ask people to help you with questions when you are a filthy player who brings the site down.

My main account with membership was closed for fair play and im not sure why. Also the email that was linked to that account is lost. The account user is "sgchessplayer4". Anyone can help?
I was playing a game and saw a note that my opponent had abandoned the game and 'may have violated the fair play policy'. I wonder what that might have meant? Any thoughts?
