Feeling scared while playing chess

Part of it is just experience. The more games you play the more able you will be in dealing with your fear. When you play speed chess your adrenaline actually kicks in and makes you shakes, which is probably the fear you are talking about. My suggestion is to play a lot of bullet games and get used to the adrenaline if you arn't already. That's how I got used to it. I know everyone on chess.com is harping on playing zero blitz and 100% slow games but in this case I think the answer is to play a lot of 1 minute games so you get used to this adrenaline you are experiencing I think in slow games. I'm only guessing you play mostly slow games because had you of been playing mostly speed chess you probably would have gotten use to this by now... but then again I could be totally wrong. If you never played a blitz game before don't play bullet btw, play 5 minutes instead, then 3, then 1... you get the idea. I would recommond you don't learn the bad habit of making pointless pawn moves in blitz like I did and instead just try to always make your best move. You'll lose a lot of games on time but who cares you are learning. I know I lose a lot of blitz games on time, which is why my rating is as low as it is, but my focus isn't blitz atm it's correspondance, and I'm not doing too well on that either... atm... Anyway, I hope this helps. Good luck in your future chess goals!

If I lost against an opponent, especially if he were condescending, I thought "I'll train even harder and next year I'm coming back and I'll crush you". Well some scores are settled yet and for the rest I'm ready if I get the opportunity to play them again.
I just played. I felt stress. I won.
On another site I play chess games with 3 days per move and I feel stress because I think I am the worse long game player there. Unlike games played in 1 sitting the stress continues.
I'm telling myself to play through it. Hopefully it will work, even if I lose my games.
So Arya, just tell yourself they're scared to lose to a nine year old rated less then they are.
War story- In the American Civil War, when U. S. Grant was commanding his first regiment, he moved to engage an enemy regiment. But inside he was afraid. He found the enemy had left because the enemy commander had been as afraid of Grant as Grant was of him. After that, Grant did not fear to confront the ennemu/
My name is Varun and i am 14 years old. Whenever i play i am very afraid of losing. My mind is not concentrating and i cant play well. Always scared of loss. The fear makes me make bad moves and sometimes blunders. I have been studying chess a lot these days as i had my summer vacations recently. I think all my chess practise and spending time on it is just going waste. Someone please help me by suggesting some tips to get rid of this. Take it one day, one game, one move at a time. Live in the moment and try to enjoy each one. Many people feel the same as you, it’s normal really. Let the love of the game keep you going. You can do it!

I suggest these tips to make best possible moves in chess:
Your move:
1) What are the strengths of your move?
2) What are the weaknesses of your move?
Opponent move:
3) What are the threats when your opponent makes this move?
4) What are the opportunities that your opponent leaves for you?
5) Should you ignore the threat to achieve something greater?
Go through these and make your move when you are 100% sure
Calculate your opponent’s moves if you want him to play a specific move and try to force him to play the move
I carefully read all those posts . thank you so much. I really love the people of chess.com.
Yes!! i will play, lose, remember and learn. Everyone has helped me a lot....
