Just once, I want my opponent to gleefully play a "checkmating" move, only to get sniped out of nowhere. But it almost never seems to happen. And when it does, it's so incredibly obvious that it completely takes the fun of it. Like, now it's just a plain ol' blunder 💀
I like to try to set up sniper bishops. I don't expect my opponents to blunder a piece or an exchange, but it restricts my opponents major pieces, which is nice.
