Interesting. If I beat the computer. 1000 trophies? I don't want 1000. Just give me about 30.

No problem. However, you have to register first - as per the rules I mentioned in my first post.

It's been a year already, and still no winners. Don't worry, I understand - it can be tough to win so many games. But the important thing is to never give up. Just today, I played a 10-game marathon session against Comp1-EASY, and won overwhelmingly, 7.5-2.5. Impressive, huh? Well, with hard work and persistence, I'm sure many of you can do it too!

Don't give up!

Here_Is_Plenty

Oh dagnabbit, I thought I had to win 1000 consecutive games....

macer75

Oh, that's not necessary. It's good to be ambitious, but there's no need to be that harsh on yourself. You just need to win 1000 games after you sign up. Of course, the fewer games you lose or draw in the process, the easier it'll be to reach that number, so quality is important too.

I finally did it! I just won my 850th game against Computer 1-EASY, and with that victory, I now have a score of exactly 80% (850W/202L/28D) against the computer!

Having just achieved this monumental accomplishment, I can't help but reminisce about the old days, just a few years ago, when I was something like 40/40/2, and was constantly suffering losing streaks that at times made me want to give up chess. But luckily I didn't. I stuck with it through the good and the bad, and now, looking back, it's simply amazing to see how far I've come. Who would have thought two or three years ago that some patzer with an 1100 blitz rating at the time would go on to win over 800 games against the computer?

I guess my accomplishment is a testament to the statement that you can do anything as long as you put your mind to it. There are a lot of people in the world who are better chess players than I am, including a lot of people on chess.com, so if I can come this far, perhaps you can do even better and win 1000 games! Really, all you need is determination, hard work and perseverance. Even though the task may seem daunting at first, remember: just keep putting one foot in front of the other, and don't look back. Try to win a few games every day, and before you know it, you'll look up and see that your goal isn't as far as you thought it would be.

So, waddaya say? How about we go out there and win some games?

Well done. Persistence. :)

 Awesome, want a trophy?

I'VE FINALLY DONE IT!!!!!

There you have it: 1000 wins against Computer1-EASY. That's one, zero, zero, zero. And to make it all the more impressive, I closed out the series of games in spectacular fashion, on a 29-game winning streak. In the process, my blitz rating climbed to an all-time high of 1651!

Looking at my previous post, I now realize that my record against the computer since then has been an unfathomable, Nakamura-esque 150-9-3. That's as close to perfection as humanly possible.

I genuinely hope that my achievement can be an inspiration for others. No matter how far-fetched your dreams may seem, as long as you keep trying and NEVER GIVE UP, you'll soon find that ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE.

MSC157

Well done!

This is almost the same as my winning bullet streak on lichess. :)

WOW! That is impressive! How did you do it?

Inspect element...  actually it is true

I think part of the streak was playing against one guy. We played like 70 games of 1/2 + 0 bullet and I managed to win all of them (mostly on time). :)

macer75

Ok, so I realize that going for 1000 wins right off the bat might be a bit too daunting for many people. So, in order to encourage participation, I'm going to set up a series of easier tasks that people can accomplish for smaller rewards. They can be thought of as similar to the "achievements" that are present in many games.

The first achievement, then, is very easy and straightforward: the first person to win a game against Computer1-EASY and post it in this thread gets 1 trophy.

Nice win! Trophy sent!

I'll now release two achievements at the same time, one easy and one hard.

Easy: Win a game against Computer1-EASY where your checkmating move is a pawn move - 2 trophies. Note that you don't necessarily have to deliver checkmate with the pawn (although that is an option). The only requirement is that the move before the # symbol on the scoresheet has to be a pawn move.

Hard: Deliver checkmate against Computer1-EASY when the computer still has its queen on the board - 5 trophies. The queen has to be the original queen from the starting position, not one that resulted from a pawn promotion.

As always, the first person to post a game in this thread that meets the criteria gets the achievement.

Now let's go and win some games!

Wow... I didn't think people would notice, but yes, that was one of my inspirations for this achievements system. I don't have the app myself, but I saw a thread on the forums talking about the achievements on the app, and I got some ideas.

Funny I don't have the app either but saw that forum too.
