Forced resignation

I think that this is a good idea because many abandon the game because of fear. Instead of them dropping out. Chess.com should allow a forced resignation because of the fear.

It's one of those ideas that's easy to criticize, for example how will the automated system detect the difference between a hopeless situation, and one that's objectively losing but still complicated enough that both sides have winning chances.
But it's also one of those ideas that, if implemented, will have people wondering why it wasn't done sooner because it just makes a lot of sense.
With modern engines (I'm specifically thinking neural net like Leela) you should be able to reliably measure the complexity of a position and/or winning chances.
It's probably too taxing to have it available for every live game, but some kind of claim process for "daily" games, where you can submit your game for adjudication, would be sensible.
Gms struggle with a knight, bishop and king endgames yet there are instances where games are drawn as a result.
the point of chess to prove you can outplay your opponents or else why play at all?
If you have a won position, then win it instead of wanting arbitration to hand you the win.
It is up to the player to decide if it is hopeless and to resign.

Tournaments should have a "forced resignation" feature. When a game is completely hopeless--a player has a huge material advantage and his opponent has no offsetting advantages or counter-play, the system should "force resign" the losing player. Especially in 3-Day Daily games, where a player can hold up a game or the entire tournament for months playing a hopelessly lost position. This rule would not apply to low rated games, as novices must learn how to checkmate and at that level anything can happen.
