Yes and chessbase is even more unstable than Fritz. What happens often with large old codebases is that unless they are designed really well the code eventually gets so heavily patched and convoluted that they become unmaintainable. To be fair the Windows platform is also very unstable and this might be the ultimate source of many of these bugs. However the developers need to provide more thorough exeption handling to work around windows bugs to keep the application from crashing.
Hello,
I recently purchased a copy of Fritz 13. While the amount of features is exceptional, I begin to wonder about its stability and useability. Sometimes it doesn't want to start at all, it once crashed altogether. It also seems that, while one can save the layout of the various windows/panels, when restarting Fritz, or reloading a previously saved layout, it doesn't work at all and I get a very weird, random and unusable layout...
I'm now also noticing that Chessbase doesn't seem to have any support forums at all (very odd for such an application), let alone even some form of support
.
Do I miss something? What do others think about Fritz 13 specifically? Thoughts or experiences about the above?
