Sounds so cheap that it would be worth buying it just to muck around with. I'd imagine it could stomp both me and you into little bits. My old phone used to beat me and it was a nokia 1 or something jurassic.

It is ... though if you've been accustomed to the warm fuzzies of the Chess Master program, then Fritz's interface may seem a little alien to you.
Make sure you download Steve Lopez's ChessBase Cafe archived articles from chesscafe.com. He does a good job of walking you through most of the capabilities of Fritz (versions 8 through 11)

It says it goes from beginner to advanced, but I don't think it's compatable with my computer anyway.
I just saw fritz at the half priced book store for 7.99. Is it any good for beginners? It says it is, but is it?
