Game reviews on chess.com not always accurate!??

I have noticed that after your completed games if you review games through chess.com analysis it is not always accurate!!? I recently had a game where my opponent took a draw by repertition, and because he didn't grab a Rook at a back rank check which would if landed his queen on A8 totally out of the game and leaving his king fully exposed to obvious attack with little prospect the review gave the praise.... missing the chance to win the Rook on A8?? I have noticed this a lot and seems its assessments are limited in its depth and not always being correct!!

Without the specific game, it's hard to say what may have happened.

Sadly I am only able to use the chess.com App, I think the option to post a game using the chess board entry must be only available through logging online and I don't own a P.C. so would have to enter longhand in notation!!?

What was your opponent's name and how many moves were played, in case you've played more than one game recently against the opponent.

My game was against Gerry MullinganEnjoy 22 moves i noticed that if 20...QxR (A8) I had 21.Nxd3 attacking the white knight on C3 and the white king looked a lot more vulnerable than blacks on did on e7!? (The game review gave ...16. Rxg2 as bad based on black was losing the Rook on A8) I felt this looked good for black - unless I have missed some thunderbolt!! but had totally overlooked black had the draw by repetition by white which was a sad end :.(

So, I can't tell what the engine on your app was seeing but if Qxa8 by White then it would be losing for white due to Nxd3 and the follow up. I get the same results on Android and web analysis.

Exactly my thoughts, it's not difficult to see over the board that white going out & grabbing the rook on A8 is losing after Nxd3 so was bemused that the review stating Rxg2 as bad and loses the Rook on A8 my only annoyance was leaving myself open to the draw by repetition but that chess at my level you miss the odd continuation?!!

Game review "not always being correct" is the understatement of the year.

I'd say that occasionally Game review says something that's not complete nonsense. Occasionally. Probably due to a fluke.

The rook it's talking about is the g2 rook, not the a8 one

Game Review is for the majority of the members, beginners and intermediate players. Try inputting GM games and Engine games, and you will know what I mean.

Some reviews are great, but recommended moves encourage traps that sink any chances in the game. This is a feature that used to show what moves would occur, rather than blindly accepting the outcome.
