Games archive and Rating history - inconsistency?

The ratings shown in the Archive are the ratings received after the game completion. It's considered the most accurate representation of the players' strength at that point.
But ...When I browse Archive, I do not see Rating at the time of play. It shows my present. Not sure if shows opponent present or play time, will check.

I see your rating changing in the archive on the website. Nothing seems wrong.

I see the same and you are correct, it does not seem logical to do it this way.
The Android app Archive shows the current ratings of the players and not the ratings at the time of the game.
Also, if you export the PGN of the game, it prints Today's Date and not the Date the game was actually played.
At some point one of us Android users should report this in the feedback to the developers so they can look at it.

I've verified that on the current version of the app and have submitted a problem report.

You must be using the app. If you want to look at the ratings of the players at the time of the game you have to log onto the website.

I use the iOS app sometimes and it has that problem as well. When I click on the win against the highest rated player I’ve beaten it shows my current rating.

Thank you Martin, your the best!

Ok, lets see if we can get this bug fixed too.
I have submitted a "bug" report:
--
OS Version: Android API 29
Device: Alco | RCT6716Q25
App Version: 210608 | 4.2.12-googleplay
Build type: release | 10
Username: KingMoored (DIAMOND)
UserId: 104279280

When a previous played game from the Archive is loaded for Analysis, the Elo ratings displayed for both players are present Elo ratings and not Elo ratings from the game when played.
In addition, if the PGN from an Archived game is copied, the Date is recorded as Today's Date and not the Date when the game was actually played.

Update: The support staff has responded to my Android app feedback / problem report for this bug and they have passed it over to the developer team to take a look at it. Hopefully a future release of the Android app will address this issue

I see the Beta Android app has fixed the Archived Game's PGN Date to the Date when the game was actually played. Thank you Developers!
Hopefully they are working on fixing the Elo ratings displaying CURRENT Elo ratings and not the Elo ratings received from when the game was played.

This problem is still not solved. The app (mine is iOS) still shows current ratings of past opponents, not ratings at the time of the game.

I’ve reported this as a bug.

Thanks for also reporting this bug! Maybe someday it will get fixed!
The bug does offer a positive feature. Since I know my opponents and I were close in Elo ratings at the time of our game, it is interesting to see how much they have improved or regressed in Elo ratings since then! 😀

The bug Elo Ratings on Android are CURRENT Ratings of the players and not Elo Ratings from the game when played must be causing false Accuracy and Move Category Classifications.
Now that Game Review has been released on Android, I imagine this bug will result in false Accuracy and Move Category Classifications (Brilliant, Great Move, Best Move, Excellent, Good) calculations because Game Review uses CAPS2.
It is my understand that CAPS2 uses players Elo ratings when calculating Accuracy and Move Category Classifications. If CAPS2 uses current player Elo ratings and not Elo ratings from when the game was played, then wouldn't the game Accuracy and Move Category Classifications be wrong?

The rating at the end of the game is considered the most accurate rating, so the accuracy and move classifications would he determined based on that decision, so would still be considered correct.

Thanks for the response Martin, I always appreciate your input.
But if I run Game Review on Android of a game I played last year, what Elo ratings is it using? The Android app only shows CURRENT player ratings and not the ratings from when the game was played.

I'm not certain, but it should be using the data from the game archives so the rating at the end of that game.
