Who excels highest in chess, Asians?

It's possible since Asians are more goal orientated and they not getting distracted by anything easily and results are pretty much speaking for themselves.

Well us is second best chess nation and russia is geographically an asian nation so it’s subjective

Viswanathan Anand

chesschickenscheese

that's who he loses to

The thread can be closed now. One win is a large enough sample size to prove Asians are better at chess.

Lion_XVI

Russia is European dumdum... the asian part is Very scarcely populated.

Carlsen has had dips before.

Why are we going into this again?

Any thread along these lines should just be locked. It will just degenerate into worthless stereotyping.

But exhaling is a time honored tradition for Asians.

lol... yh it is im asian tho i live in england

I’m an Asian and I think this theory is flawed largely because Asia has way more population than other continents have. I mean China and India are two countries and they have more people than Australia, Europe, North/South America and Africa combined!

The top players are bound to be Asians. Combine that with the intense want to excel (competition for resources) and you get fiercely competitive Asians.

Bad for us Asian guys in 20s! Gotta compete too hard for everything.

Roses are red, violets are blue, there's always an Asian, better then you.

Besides being untrue, that actually is racist, because it is derogatory. There is nothing wrong with the statement "Asians are good at chess" because it is a compliment.

It is impossible to be racist against white people. Just ask the radical leftists that control the universities, they will tell you.

Also, for one group to be "better" than another at something, another group has to be worse. It is a relational observation. So "compliments" like "asians are better," are thus derogatory to non-asians.

Those are both great points. Though of course indirect harm from another race recieving a compliment isn't nearly as bad as a direct insult at one's own race, you are right it still not exactly pleasant. Maybe it's just that I have a very casual friend group who are mostly Asian (I am white though) and they constantly say things like "you're Asian, your grades should be higher" I'm kind of used to it by now.

Destroyer942

Oh and by the way I also dislike radical leftists, having first hand experience interacting with many.

Spaniards obviously.
