So would I...
Giant Chess Pieces

I was on a band trip in high school and I don't remember what city we were in, but we stopped at a mall for 4 hours.
The king was about 4 feet tall and I played my best friend for a solid 2 hours. By the end we had attacted quite a crowd to come and watch us, and it never got old lugging HUGE pieces around.

If you were white, I think you had the better game. Did you strike the match shortly after the picture was taken?

I was on a cruise ship last week, and I played some games with giant chess pieces. The king was about 3 feet tall. I was a bit disoriented at first, but it was a lot of fun once I adjusted. I'd be interested to hear the experiences of other people who've played with giant pieces.
I have played with giant chess sets and it is a little disorienting at first, but I enjoyed it. It was in a mall in Frankford, KY. It was a wooden set.
I saw a large set on a cruise ship, too, but I could not find anyone to play chess with me on it. One man told me it thought it was for kids, so we played with the set in the library.
I enjoy playing with all types and sized of sets. I think it is stimulating to the mind. But not for serious chess, however.

I saved this photo. I have a chess set collection and I would love to have such a small set. One would need tweezers to move the chessmen.

I can't light it, I use that match as my sofa

Strangely disorienting. I found that odd, but it didn't last long.

That would be hard to keep track of, you could easily lose it

Oh, what you are saying is the match is a giant, right? I've seen super large things such as that.

No. I was making a joke about how small my apartment is, crosspinner

Okay. But you have go to admit that would be tricky to have a giant match and photograph it beside a regular chess set.
I hope you some day have a larger apartment, that is, if you want one.
Here is a game being played on 10 foot pieces - if anyone is interested.

This set is really neat. I wonder why they didn't put swivel wheels on those chessmen?
This is just one reason I read these forums. Otherwise I may have never seen this set and many other sets I've seen on these threads.
