Well, many expected Magnus to wipe up the board with Fabi.
So from that perspective, a 6-6 tie is a moral victory for him.
Unfortunately, if Fabi has one weakness, it is playing at faster time controls.
So I have a bad feeling the tiebreaks wont go well for him.
But it's speed chess. So anything can happen.
We'll see Wednesday.

So?! Fabi put up a brilliant fight in the classical portion! He created more chances than Magnus and played better chess overall. The only factor that differentiated these two players was that Magnus was superior in tiebreaks. (rapid and blitz chess) Since, technically, rapid and blitz shouldnt be played to determine the champion of classical chess, one can say that the match was pretty even. (Caruana possibly had a slight edge) Furthermore, Fabi was a better player and sportsman. Even with the video about his training camp being released, he still put Magnus under pressure in the opening and managed to almost win a lot of games. Finally, your attitude towards this forum is very disrespectful. I specifically stated in the rules of this forum that you cannot say anything against fabi. This forum solely serves the purpose of providing advice and discussing strategies fabi may have. If you do not respect this, I suggest that you stop posting here. I wont block you and I cant make you stop, but I am just asking you to stop. (I know this makes no sense ) Thanks in advance!
Fabi couldn't get it done in classical. Magnus won in tiebreak.
yes, but he was a better player overall in the classical (refer to a post on twitter from Hikaru Nakamura "It would be a bit weird if the player who played better chess lost the championships" or something along those lines)
Go Fabi!!
