Nice article, and I agree with the senitiment, Go Gary Go... but this sentence baffled me:
"He was mobbed by admirers, men in their 40s and 50s who had loved him since childhood."
First that's just bad writing, it's wretchedly ambiguous -- whose childhood -- Garry's or theirs? But whatever was intended, it doesn't make a lot of sense... "Men in their 40s and 50s" makes them roughly the same age as Garry K. (46)...
So uh, when they were children they admired the child Kasparov?
My hypothesis is that the journalist is a youngster who thinks Kasparov's silvery hair means he's in his sixties, LOL.
