Although I’m a bit late to this, but there are videos of Levy Rozman’s wife using Levy’s account and in the Fair Play Policy of chess.com, there are rules stating. Do not allow anyone else to use your account and do not use anyone else's account.

Good observation. Yes, usually you aren't allowed to let anyone else use your account. However, there are some exceptions to this if you message chess.com support first and get permission; I'm pretty sure GothamChess (Levy Rozman) took the time to set things up professionally.

Mostly allowed for some content (like his channel) or also accounts made for a specific purpose like playing Hand and Brain Chess.

You just need permission from chess.com first. happy.png

Also I think it’s less of a problem when it’s a lower rated player using a higher rated player’s account, no? Because it only negatively effects levy? Like I like his wife, Lucy, but she’s like 1100 she’s not going to win those games 😂

Saw that one and I seem to remember him saying that it´d all been agreed to by chess.com, and that the opponents would get their lost rating points refunded.

Ok thanks for the answers. I will let other users comment on this forum to discuss.

Oh my goodness. Their are special permissions given to streamers. No points won are kept. If you'd watch more you would have learned this. So this post is pointless.

That seems incredibly unlikely. How would that work? A chess.com employee modifying dozens of ratings after each stream? That's just ridiculous.

Yes. It's automatic. Players have to certify that the account is for speed runs and then all points taken on it are refunded.

We are not talking about a speedrun account.

From a business perspective, streamers might get away with this kind of stunt because it promotes the website and the administrators be more lenient for that reason. If anyone else tries these things then they might get caught out by the detection algorithms.

What's a matter with some people, why would you even bother to make a thread like this and draw attention to nothing, his wife is rated 1800 pts or so below him, get a life, too many people jealous of his success.

I just stumbled along the fair play policy and just thought is Levy breaking a rule, I posted this for users that are more familiar with chess.com rules and Levy’s channel since I’m new to chess.

I saw the streams with his wife. They were for fun instruction. And to show to contrast between the strength of their play in the same situations. He literally mentions that normally it would be a violation. But streamers are afforded latitude in content creation.

Why would that be "nothing"? It is a clear violation of the rules.

On the other hand, it is 100% that chess.com will do nothing about it, for obvious reasons.

It is regular chess, but one side has two players working as a team. Person A is the "Hand", Person B is the "Brain." The Brain is the person "thinking" and for each move they ONLY say the piece to move, but they don't say which exact piece or to what square. The teammate being the Hand must use their best judgement to try and play what they think the Brain is saying.

It is a tool for teaching because after the game, the Brain can teach the Hand what they were thinking even though the Hand gains some of the experience for playing.

This game is tricky because if the Brain says "Knight" or "pawn" or whatever piece, the Hand doesn't know which exact one and where to move it.

I won't play an entire game, but let me give an example for a few moves:
