Halp me I am a chess noob

Take advantage of your diamond membership. I see you've started on the ChessMentor and there are some great courses there. Lots of folks think that they are limited to doing the courses in either adaptive or sequential order. Please be aware that you don't have to play that game. It seems logical just to hit that big orange Start Training button, but then you're limited to the sequential/adaptive dance. Notice to the right there's a list of actions you can take including View Courses. Click that and now you can do any lesson in any course that you want to. If you already figured that out, then good for you and enjoy your training.
I recommend GM Patrick Wolff's tactical courses since he hits all the tactical motifs. Well worth doing over and over again IMHO. One of the quickest ways to increase your board vision is to practice tactics. The tactics trainer is great for that but the time limits can make it a little intimidating. That's why I recommend you study tactics over at the ChessMentor and use the TT mostly just to test your progress, at least until you have a working vocabulary of tactics. Hope that helped, and have fun!
Oh there are some great video authors here too. I especially recommend IM Danny Rensch's Live Session videos. Some of the best "edutainment" around as Danny shares his thought processes as he plays.

Definitely not a noob "troll"... quite familiar with those. I have no idea what or who an OP is.... perhaps someone will enlighten me. As to the title and first couple of posts, I apologize... I was letting my younger nephew and cousins play around on the iPad after I had installed the app... allowed them to post some silly stuff... hope nobody took it too seriously. Baddogno, I genuinely appreciate the sincerity of your advice, and I will most certainly look into them. Thanks...

OP means Original Poster, whoever used your account to start this thread.
