So I got paired against somebody in a team match that we are having and he is rated more than 300 points higher than me! We have 3 days per move and the game has already started.

I rarely play Online Chess and don't really know how I should be going about it. Any tips to beat/not lose both games horribly to someone rated higher than me? Thanks for the help!

Don't worry about the rating. You have played so few online games that you have no idea what your real "online" rating may be.  Look at your opponent's other ratings. If their live ratings aren't also 300 points higher than yours, chances are that their 3 day play won't be that much better.

These online games offer you a good chance to use a database to improve your opening play.  (It's completely legal in online correspondence type play.)  One of the two of you will vary from known theory soon enough and you will be on your own.

Use the game analysis board to actually play through what you think the next few moves of the game might be.

Triple check your moves before entering them. (There's nothing worse than waiting for 3 days to see if your opponent notices your blunder.)

Good luck.
