so id like to know what and why it took chess.com so long to ban hans . 2020 and he was cheating at 12 and 16? wow thats a long time
from WSJ :
"[Chess.com's] report also addresses Niemann’s postgame analysis of the moves from his game against Carlsen, which top players say showed a lack of understanding of the positions he had just played. It says Niemann’s analysis seems “to be at odds with the level of preparation that Hans claimed was at play in the game and the level of analysis needed to defeat the World Chess Champion.”

The op doesn't mention otb. This is about Hans lying he only cheated twice online. He is also free to have as many girlfriend as he likes.
Didn't Andrea want to date him? Surprised they didn't do a Kardashian like reality soap with him yet...
I don't think this greatly contradicts what Hans has already admitted to. So he perhaps forgot, in a long and emotional interview, that he had turned 17 when he cheated in some online events. That's not a big deal in my view.
I think that this in fact perhaps (pending the investigation into his OTB play) reinforces the claim by Hans that he has not cheated over the last 2 years or so, and has devoted himself to study, and that it's the study that has improved his chess over the last 2 years. I think it's important to put his rapid rise in Elo in context of Jacob Aagaard's assessment that Niemann's chess memory and intuition are "off the charts" in comparison to other 2600 level grandmasters he has trained.
A player with "off the charts" chess intuition at that level would also probably be capable of playing games that seem bafflingly, surprisingly good even to other top players.
In short it is still entirely possible, in fact likely, that Niemann has not cheated OTB as he has risen rapidly in the ratings over the past two years.
He did not cheat in the match against carlson, they literally searched him, he could've had a more through search and he still probably would have won
But there is no proof he cheated OTB against Carlsen.
Also he had a cheating past yet the idiotic Carlsen played him before with no problem. It's only when the manchild lost that he cried and whined to try to ruin Hans reputation in OTB.

so he was so unprepared for the interview that he forgot and it's no big deal that he cheated because it was online and he was 17 just 2 years ago? just trying to summarize.
What I don't get is when he beat Carlsen he said "Chess speaks for itself".
I know it's a meme now but why did he say that? Why did he walk away? Why didn't he explain?

could just be a prepped mic drop statement
Basically, what it said was he cheated in over 100 games, and 4% of the top 100 are cheating.
Yeah...
