Fischerrook, that game was crazy, cool and traumatic all at the same time. If it makes you feel any better, it's going to stick with me for about the next 5 minutes
Have you been so frustrated after a game that you punched and broke your laptop screen?
Yea, Fisherrook, in your game, I'm guessing you mean you could've had mate with the move 33. R f4 ?
Interesting opening, what is the name of that?

Ok I confess i almost went rage and broke stuff after this game. I was up by a ton in material and playing against a guy 300 lower than me in a 10 minute blitz tournament. My time on the clock was around 8 minutes, and i got so cocky i missed the obvious checkmate. This what happens when you don't slow down and make moves quickly just cause you can.

Close but not quite. The mate was 33. Qf5#

chess is a mysterious game. Its crazy draws or losses is why the game will never be "solved" by humans. I've gotten angry over games before. This was awhile ago, but I completely missed Rxc8. Yes I'll admit I said quite a few curse words after this game is over, but at the end of the day it is just a game and not worth punching the screen over...

That is very true.

Although my gameplay is noticeably different when I'm annoyed. (I push more pawns, I move my queen more, etc.)

Stalemate was absolutely the only way for your opponent to save the day. Probably you learnt something, or at least you refreshed your knowledge on stalemate danger with a defended pawn on the seventh rank and the opponent king behind it. You was simply in the modus "let's exchange everything and win this endgame". It works almost always.

Or broke something else in anger and frustration.
I have.
I would not do anything like THAT, but I would punish myself

Is playing many games in a day making us difficult to concentrate, thus prone to make blunders?
I usually play only two Daily games, and this is enough. Of course it is funny to play a lot of games at the same time, but then you begin to blitz and jump from one game to the other. Better to spend a lot of time thinking in one or two games and improve your calculation.
Just 2. I am presently in the middle of 22 daily games !!
I know 22 is too many too. However there are days when I am bored and dont feel like playing live games. So I join two or three tournaments. Then their games all pile up one after the other and you get so many games that you can't manage.

It is okay as long as your goal in these games is not improve but play for fun. I played also for a while 30 to 60 games without thinking much.

Many times per day, when i blunder a Q like that:

I simply punch my drawer or wall as hard as i can and then just smash random cheap item i find nearby such as glass cup, ashtray ( it's super satisfying tho ). Usually I just stop playing Chess for few days.
I also smashed x2 PC Monitor screens, one i threw to the wall due to some family related issues/rage another time years later it was rage in shooter game so i punched the screen to death.
Now i'm pretty calm person, but i've found that only Chess manages to "trigger" me especially these sub-10 IQ blunders.
No, because that would be really stupid, and expensive. I've been angry about losing a game, but not to the point of breaking stuff.
im with him
ARE you two a couple?
