Ok! Thanks!
HEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLPPPPPPP

doesn't matter if he's a CM or an unrated. Play your best and if he beats you, that just comes down to raw skill. If you play for a trap or trick, you are not playing your best! From experience the way I deal with much higher rated players is I play a comfortable opening and I don't give him any weaknesses to play for. Additionally, do not play very passively or aggressively - find that balance. Overusing one method can give him the advantage both psychologically and on the board.
Thanks! All help is greatly appreciated!

That's true, don't listen to what I said.

That means you don't listen to "don't listen to just go for a cheesy opening trap and hope he falls for it"?

I typed in help in google images and it came up with this...

come to think of it maybe I typed in hell by mistake still there is that to look forward to after he crushes you to a pulp. Just kidding lol....

on the serious side try searching what he plays he will have games stored from getting to the CM ranking which is after all the least impressive 'master' ranking.

Unless its a all play all tournament, you are not likely to play him, as most tournaments are Swiss, meaning you play someone with the same number of points as you. If you do play him, enjoy the occation! My dream is to play a GM someday in a regular game. Play your normal opening, talk to your pieces (in your head) and make sure every move is as active AND solid as possible. Pay attention to changes and possible changes in the pawn structure. A CM is basically a better player than you, but you both have the same number of pieces at the start of the game.

Well, thanks. I DID play the CM, but I lost in doing so. There's this kid named Yan (Seems Russian, don't you think? ) who drew the CM. HE'S 1200 OR SOMETHING!
But anyway, I got 4th place with 3.0/5. Yes, there's a trophy for that. Anyway, during the game against the CM, I blundered 2 pawns but in the endgame after we traded queens, I had two passed pawns about to promote. But he got a check here and there, and finally mated me. In other words, even though I lost, I feel like this is my best game against a titled player. I didn't lose SO much material like I do in some of my games. This felt like some kind of a learning experience. Thanks everybody for the tips. I actually memorized what FlashyFerrari and others said (NO I'M NOT LYING) when I was paired up with the CM.
Thanks everybody for all your help

So you're saying I should search up his games on USCF?

yes before you might have played him or even on an online database like fides or buy chessbase the chess dtabase of games and analysis computer program.

You could try cheating.
Cheating would be against the rules of USCF. I could get a temporary or even a lifetime ban from playing USCF. Anyhow, it's too late. I played the tournament on February 2, 2018.

You could invent a time machine, go back to before you played the game and then try cheating.
