Hiding Opponents Rating.

I've been beat down into the rating basement lately. I've had to learn an old lesson over again. That lesson is this You are not playing the other guys rating. you're playing him or her. I learned a long time ago that before the first move is made all players are equal. That Big number beside your opponent's username is not what's gonna beat you or give you an easy win.. Any thing you attribute or assume about them based on the display could be dead wrong. Never the less ; I think most would be lying if they said they never had been influenced by their adversary's rating. And if we allow what we see effect our psychological approach to our play. It could make us feel over confident; or it could cause us to fold in fear of the slightest mistake ; making the game unrecoverable. It made me wonder if I had the choice to not see my opponents rating. And then chose not to...; then that would eliminate any assumption ever being made ; and in turn it would cause a player to approach every game with the same confidence ; and to have a healthy respect for all their opponents. Them maybe you could turn it back on later on...; and see how you been doing. I don't anticipate such a feature being implemented ; but I think it would help me and some others like me ; and it's something that can't adversely affect anyone else.
