High CPU Usage

This issue began today. When I get on Chess.com everything is fine, the moment I load any board, through tactics, a game, or analysis. My cpu usage spikes to around 90%. It happened over night. Yesterday I was playing on Chess.com just fine, no issues, yet this morning the Chess.com is consuming all of my cpu. There is extreme latency with my game, to the point where I have made blunders due to the lag. Last night, I told my computer to update Windows 10. It updated normally. I installed nothing between now and last night, I clicked on no adds between now and then, but suddenly Chess is using all of my CPU. I have checked other forums, and this issue has been previously linked with adds. I have a premium account, and adblock plus installed. I have tried playing games with and without adblock turned on, to no change. In my task manager, I expanded chrome. And I killed the program that was consuming all of my cpu, and on Chess.com, the board disappeared. Attached, is a bunch of screenshots that may be found helpful.

I hope you are keeping well. 

Gid it looks as though there are 28 instances of chrome open. The way chrome operates is that it opens each tab as a separate process so that if a tab hangs it only kills that tab and isolates it so you don lose all other tabs.

Can you try ensure you only have 1 chrome window open and then just play 1 game and see if this number stays down just as  a test to see if this is causing an issue. Also if you ran updates can you check for updates 2 more times and ensure there are none pending.

I closed all my chrome tabs:

essentially, Chess.com is using way more cpu than it should, and I am 100% sure that it is Chess.com

When you closed all chrome tabs did your CPU return to normal?

I suggest you refrain from posting if you don't even know the basics.

Gid, I think that restarting your computer was a good starting point and perhaps contacting Lenovo about this issue. I have never heard of this before, so might just need a few hard reboots.

I think that burdening the post with questions while being ignorant of both the problem and the solution does not equate to an acceptable answer.

hmmm. Like I said try rebooting your laptop a couple times. Same happens to me while doing some browser games, restart, run slow, restart, run slow, restart, fine.

@Gid_)Virtual2, Can you try run this in Mozilla Firefox browser and let me know if same thing happens or not?

maybe i have a solution to your problem

im on firefox and its only using 1% of the CPU 

same on Chrome
