he actually looks like a cheat who, just plays one person? and most games end in 2 moves! Hes not even showing on the top chess players list. He uses an engine. lol

Sred

No, he doesn't need to use an engine, because his fake opponents always resign after the first move.

Kingpunk

He's using another player to help him cheat. Classless.

Sred

It's probably not one other player, it's multiple accounts of himself.

featMikeTyson

To be fair, the opponent's name IS 'theloser'

cauchy_schwarz_inequality

he is just very lucky lol

Sred

Probably he's totally aware that he will get banned and just wants to see how far he can take it (much further than I'd have guessed).

Syd_Arthur

But since him and theloser have only played each other, and the loser has lost every single game, and they both started at 1200, how can theloser's rating be so high?  For a guy who's lost every game he's played in 1 move, he's no slouch.

There is something very buggy here.

If one can game the system like that, it makes me question the validity of the online rating system setup here.

I guess that as long as one player's rating keeps going up, and he only plays that"opponent" even the loser's rating will go up because he's playing a higher rated "opponent".  Either himself or someone colluding with him.

Pretty slick way to get an absolutey meaningless high rating, I must say.

Sred

Syd_Arthur, there are lots of theloserNN accounts. The last games were against theloser31. This guy has too much time or has written a script.

firepawnchess

The only way his other accounts are 2500 are if he is using an engine to pump up his rating

firepawnchess

There are a lot of thelosers

Why? He just lets them play against each other, always resigning after one move.

firepawnchess

yeah I see that now, there are probably 100s of theloser accounts, all eventually feeding into the main player chelko

Sred

Also possible that it's some kind of test account. He doesn't show up in the player list.

Syd_Arthur

Thank you, Sred, I didn't see that.

Now I see that one "loser" always plays another "loser" for a while, until that "loser" is finally ready to take on the "champ".

If this guy put all that energy and time into actually playing chess instead of cheating against himself, he might have some potential to get good (as long as games did not go beyond the first move). :)

I'd get exausted just keeping track of and managing all of my "loser's" games and ratings...I mean, there's hundreds of them!

BTW, if I played him or a "loser" and won, would my rating go up, like, 300 points?  Just curious.

Because I can play a game of chess up to five (5) moves.

Sred

Syd_Arthur, since your GlickoRD is 311, your rating would totally explode. I don't have the formula at hand, but 300 points is a modest estimation.

Syd_Arthur

Sred, I do anticipate that my rating will improve on it's own, as since discovering Tacticts Trainer, I am now aware that a game of chess can last six (6), or even seven (7) moves.

Pat_Zerr

I couldn't even imagine how bored I'd have to be in order to do something like this.

firepawnchess

Lol, looks like he is banned

Kid with a script by the sound of it.

Weird the things children will do.

But then, my wife says what I do with my time is weird.
