You know the symptoms. The red circle is an omen.
Hikaru Nakamura

How i see So-s time will come.He is in top but he will never be number one.And for the highest chess rating of all time.... You kiding me or what?I can tell you 20 players that are much better then he

Hikaru's a talent and consistently in the top ten in the world. He may not be the strongest player at the moment, but he's certainly one of them, and he's still improving.
Also FYI: in the Paris Grand Chess Tour, Hikaru needed two wins to secure the bronze. So he rolled up his sleeves and won the two games—one against Karjakin, and the other against Carlsen. Proof that he can beat any player in the world when he's on his game.

Sadly, I don't think he's come around on the Dak Prescott situation though.

Finully that i hear something that is truth. He is in top 10(maybe in top 5) and he can win against everyone but still everybody talking like he is god.
Also here is link from Zürich http://www.zurich-cc.com/en/results/standings He played 1:1 with Viswanathan Anand,1:1 with Vladimir Kramnik and 2:0 for him against Ian Nepomniachtchi. The rest are not in top 10,so ones again all top players was not played in this tournament ChrisWainscott

Nakamura is an incredible player who can beat anyone in the world when he has a good day. However, the same can be said for all the other top 10 players as well.
People who think he's the best player in the world are seeing the world through a pair of these.
Chess.com is an american company with american members making up almost a third of its members. Naturally, most of the news and articles are disproportionately focused on american players. If you ran a poll on who people considered the favourite to win the candidates right now the majority of them would answer So, Caruana or Nakamura. I don't think objectively they are any bigger favourites than Aronian, Kramnik, MVL or Karjakin.

I was watching the blitz championship with a friend a few days ago and we both noticed something. One of his games, I dont remember which one, he had to make a very simple move which would have won, and instead he moved somewhere else and ended up drawing one or two moves later. So either two things are possible, he overlooked something that a 1200 rated player easily saw, or we are wrong and it wasnt a winning move. I think he is a great player too, but I also think he made a huge mistake for being a grandmaster.
Chess is hard... but not because good moves are hard to find. Usually good moves look good. Chess is hard because bad moves look good too. You just weren't good enough to be fooled by the bad move like the GM was
That was some time ago. Turns out he just made a bad move, for a grandmaster. I'm not the only one who has turned a win into a draw.

Thank you Harmbtn.You nailed it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm just saying Naka may have net been playing well in general this period of time. e.x. Anand was near;y champion 2 years ago, but now he isn't even close anymore.

By sheer coincidence I have 7 pairs of those glasses.

So forr the ones that told me how Hikaru great is take a look on last tournament: https://www.chess.com/news/view/vachier-lagrave-wins-5th-sinquefield-cup-8519

I would say anyone in the top 10 in the world is great. No matter what the profession. Not that number 11 in the world is just "good" maybe that's great too. But no one can win all the time, even if any given tournament someone in the top 10 comes in last, they are probably still great.

This was just 1 tournament. Everyone has a bad tournament every once in a while. After all, they are humans not engines. Hikaru won Gibraltar this yea, which you probably think it's a weak tournament, but there are tons of 2700+ players that competed there, including MVL who just won the Sinquefield Cup.

So had a bad tournament.Hikaru played best as he can.Or when americans are not good rated they only have a bad day??????Yes i think is weak tournament.Every 2700+ are not good as those first 10.

Bobby Fischer wouldn't crush the top 100 players of today. There's a difference between being a genius that was ahead of his time, and crushing people from the future. Fischer didn't have engines to prepare. And we can also look how outdated Fischer was when he played Spassky in 1992. (Yes, Fischer did win that match), but Spassky was 2500 by 1992, and we saw how 1960's theory became so outdated in only about two decades.
It's not a diss on Fischer, he was a genius ahead of his time, but everyone understands how much chess has improved with the introduction of computers, internet, databases and tablebases.

Not sure why you assume that there is "lots of better player than him", when he is number 7 in the FIDE ranking. 6 humans out of 7.5 billions isn't "lots".
As for the players of the past, whether they were better or worse than modern top players depends on the perspective. They knew much less theory (or much more flawed interpretation of theory), but also much less information was available at the time, so they did their best, just like modern top players do their best. If you magically pull out Botvinnik or Lasker at their prime to the modern times and let them use all the modern technology to keep up with time, would they become champions nowadays? No one can say, as it is too much into the realm of fantasy.

Do you even know who competed in Gilbraltar? I already mentioned MVL, he's currently #2 in the World, and what about Svidler, he competed in the Sinquefield Cup as well and is a very strong 2700. Who know who else competed there? Caruana, former #2 player in the world, Topalov, a very strong 2700+ who has also won countless Super GM tournaments. Ivanchuk also competed, as well as Yu Yangyi. If those aren't strong players to you, then you clearly need help.
