debatable. and the horses are called knights. some people say that bishops are half a point better than knights. depends if it's a closed or open game.
Horse or bishop?

It is easier to make a check and having some other figure at beat, with a knight, than with a bishop.

i presume you mean it's easier to fork with a knight. that is correct but it's easier to pin/skewer a piece with a bishop.

sounds like you are already decided on the matter. Fact is, it just depends on the position. a knight or bishop can even be better than a rook....and I'll take a knight delivering mate over a pinned queen any day.

Forking comes more often than pinning
that is incorrect.
notice a pattern
forks come more often at your level because people are bad and although is less common forking with bishops happen enough not to be rare.

But when you start a game would you prefer to play without a horse or a bishop?

What is better: horse or bishop?

+gingerninja: but forking is more usefull than pinning
sure forks are usefull....generalized statements like this one however, are not....

+gingerninja: but forking is more usefull than pinning
very situational and is not right all of the time

But most times forking's better
most of the time your opponent will see the fork and prevent it. pins can simply win pawns are effective as these tend to be more subtle and it takes more of an eye to see something like that. since pins happen more often than forks. bishops tend to be better. it's really down to if it's an open or closed game.
