I am stuck trying to learn and practice chess but the same "Want to play all the bots? Pay for the membership" or "Pay for a membership for lessons" or "To play puzzle rush or puzzles pay for membership." Is there any way to learn more chess for free?

You can play for free. You can review one game for free. You can solve 4 tactics puzzles for free. You can engine analyse any number of games for free. You can do one weekly lesson for free.

can't believe this hasn't been mentioned in any of the online chess forums, but lichess.org studies section is an absolute godsent. it has thousands of lessons available. you can find it here

You are on the right path. I went up to 2000 without paying any online website. Buy chess books instead. I bought 2 to 4 chess books a year.

Visit a library.

I imagine there are also many chess books in the public domain that you can find PDFs of online.

There are a lot of content that can guide you in becoming a better chess player. These are not as helpful as those you can pay but I can share you one that can go neck to neck with them and this is the best way to study. It is underrated yet fundamental.
