Fritz is an just engine, what GUI (graphical user interface) are you using?
How can I open a pgn file with Fritz?

Probably Fritz. It is also the name of the program itself, which includes the GUI.
I usually open the PGN in Notepad, selct all, copy, and then Paste game.

That's just confusing. Actually I guess it is simpler, therefore more confusing because everything else is so convoluted...
1) Start the Fritz program.
2) Press F12
3) Press CTRL+O
4) Change dropdown to PGN file and navigate to the file etc...
Hope it works....

More confusing than:
Press F12
Press CTRL+O
Change dropdown to PGN file and navigate to the file etc...

Nygren and paulgottlieb are right. It works.Thank you all for participating.I can use Fritz for 960 games now.Chessmaster does not open 960 games.

This step is easy to overlook and may be the source of frustration for many.

A very good combination is to use chessbase with the fritz engine.

How do you change the dropdown to PGN File ...... where is the PGN file or where do I have to create it??
Fritz is driving me crazy!!
1. Create a new game;
2. on the 'score sheet menu', on the right side, copy and paste the moves of your pgn file
3. enjoy

Read the manual. Saves loads of time.
Who would do a fool thing like that? That's heresy!
(RTFM = Read The Funky Manual?)
If you know please give me an answer.
