If you know please give me an answer.

Fritz is an just engine, what GUI (graphical user interface) are you using?

landwehr

dunno

Rsava

Probably Fritz. It is also the name of the program itself, which includes the GUI.

I usually open the PGN in Notepad, selct all, copy, and then Paste game.

That's just confusing. Actually I guess it is simpler, therefore more confusing because everything else is so convoluted...

Nygren

1) Start the Fritz program.

2) Press F12

3) Press CTRL+O

4) Change dropdown to PGN file and navigate to the file etc...

Hope it works....

Press CTRL+O

Change dropdown to PGN file and navigate to the file etc...

This step is easy to overlook and may be the source of frustration for many.

A very good combination is to use chessbase with the fritz engine.

Read the manual. Saves loads of time.

dffc

1. Create a new game;

2. on the 'score sheet menu', on the right side, copy and paste the moves of your pgn file

3. enjoy

dffc

I also switch off the engine on the Engine tab

Who would do a fool thing like that? That's heresy!

(RTFM = Read The Funky Manual?)

Just upgraded to CB 15 and Komodo 13 (which runs on Fritz 16). No manuals came with the software, but with an internet connection it is possible to access help files from within the program.

If you are intending for improving your chess rather than playing with an engine, serious analysis and opening preparation,i would say that you could go for lucaschess.even though its i free program it features a lot of training features for every improving player.hope this works
