How can I play as the black pieces versus bots?

Why castling should be illegal? Castling is a good rule
castlingshouldbeillegal

Moving two pieces on one move? Nah, thats illegal. Why can I not play as the black pieces?? Every chess app/game does this. Such bs

Fetorenczi
Not illegal. Its a good rule

I understand currently it is legal, but you cant just say that its "good" without countering my argument as to why it is bad. Moving two pieces in one move is illegal, right? The only argument I've seen for it is that it makes the game faster

It's an option when you select your computer opponent right below his avatar.

P.S. You never made an argument for why castling should be illegal it's just a statement.

Castling should not be made illegal because it has existed for centuries. It arose after the Queen and Bishop had been made stronger and King safety became more paramount. The French and English have had Castling since the 1600's.

I made an argument... castling involves moving two pieces on one move, which should be illegal. Saying that it has been around for centuries isnt an argument lmao. Saying that its "good" is not an argument.

castlingshouldbeillegal

Argue against my statement then. Is moving two pieces on one move illegal or not? I am arguing that is should be across all pieces. No other piece can go through another piece... but its been around for centuries so

Castling is necessary, it gives you a chance to safely move your king into a corner pocket position, & in the right circumstances, gives your rooks access to see each other, which is vital. There wouldn’t be any other way to connect rooks, other than putting your king into perilous danger & wasting moves to get them connected. if the queens (& bishops) original rules still applied, then castling wouldn’t even be necessary nor would it be part of the game at all. That, unfortunately, is how the cookie crumbles though. It will never be made illegal, & it’s also not moving 2 pieces at once, it’s technically defined as a rule where the king moves two spaces, and the rook loops around to the kings original position. You can’t castles after moving your king or rook, you can’t castles out of check, & your back row must be vacated between the 2, perfectly legal & always will be….the only situation that may seem unfair is castling to get your rook out of danger, but, I’m still on the castling side.

Correction, I meant to say it’s technically not moving 2 pieces at once, because they’re switching positions*

Yes, they go through each other like ghosts. Your argument is that it is good to have your king in a safe spot... we can do that without castling, no? Is it IMPOSSIBLE to have your king on the other side of your rook without moving them at the same time? No, it is not impossible. "It makes the game go faster" -not an argument. "Its always been like this" -not an argument "It will never be illegal" -not an argument. Hmm, how can two pieces switch positions if it isnt moving two at once? Pathetic.
