How do I change the elo range I'm matched against?

I have a question. How do I change the elo range of the players I'm matched against? I'm an 1800 and I just got matched with a 700. I assumed this was because it searched for a player my level looking for a game and it didn't find any, so it matched me with someone much lower. This isn't the first time this has happened though. Is there a way to instruct chess.com to search for players within a narrower range, even if it takes longer? Thanks

I think that the problem is that 15|10 is not very popular compared to time controls like 10|0 or 5|0. (Data from 2017 showed that there were ten 10|0 games for every 15|10 game.)

At times, there may not be available players in your range.

You can do a custom search and define the range.  https://support.chess.com/article/369-how-does-matching-work-in-live-chess

Ok. Thank you! I was wondering why chess.com doesn't add some longer time controls, because I'd love to play some proper rapidplay games
