How do i get a refund for my membership

i had this account a year ago, but then i forgot about it, but it still made me pay around 1900 mexican pesos for another year, anyone know how to get it back?

You probably can’t: there is no way for the chess.com staff to know if you were utilizing their services (forums, for example) or not during that period of time, even if you weren’t using your account

If your account was set to auto renew then yes they will refund you just contact customer service.

As someone mentioned above; if you contact support we will help you out the best we can. We don't want to charge people for service they were not using.

Due to the pandemic, support is getting a lot of tickets. It can take a couple of days for them to get to it.

I have the same problem. I forgot to turn off auto renew and im charged 100$. Today it's just the first or second day of my subscription so I hope you can give me my money back. I've already cancelled my subscription.

Hello. How long does it take for support to message back ? I have sent a request to refund my premium subscription that auto renewed but its 

been almost 3 days and I heard nothing back.  It really sucks that chess auto renewed for a entire year instead of going for a monthly subscription.

It has been taking a week or more to process refund requests to support@chess.com.  Please be patient.

As you may have heard, there has been a surge in demand for online gaming during the coronavirus. Chess.com is doing its best to keep up.

They will refund you, even though it is your fault.

 

I think it says something about the intelligence of folk on here that so many are willing to send off their credit card details  and act surprised when they are charged.

 

If you don't want to sign up for an automatic renewal subscription....don't do it

I know I'm an idiot, I completely forgot about something that I should not have and this is only my fault. You really don't have to twist the knife though, do you? $99 is hell of a lot money in my country and after 3 days of waiting I still have not received any sort of reply on my mail. I hope everything gets sorted sad.png

I am going through the same problem. I was going to cancel the auto renewal the night before, but couldn't do it on the app so I woke up to a 400 bill... I cancelled it as soon as I saw it but still got no reply from the refund support.

You have to visit Support using the link on the bottom of the page (not the forums) and search for the refund form.
