How do people who have not achieved 2300 at any point get FM title?

The title says it all. How do people who have never achieved the rating of 2300 classical FIDE get the FM title? (Especially young people). Please tell me how this works! I check some FMs charts and they barely ever crossed 2250 but have a FM title

They may play better over the board. I usually do.

Maybe they have a FIDE rating of only (lol only) 2100+ but have a tournament performance of 2300+?

"FIDE Master (FM). The usual way for a player to qualify for the FIDE Master title is by achieving a FIDE Rating of 2100 or more (tournament performance of 2300)."

OP--regarding titles, noticed in your advertisement for coaching, you refer to yourself as a "titled player",i.e.Master, followed by GM Ashwin. Based upon your ratings, l am not aware that CFC has awarded you such title and you are definitely not a GM. One could easily view this as an attempt to deceive.

Also, you reference your FIDE rating which is blitz related. This is almost always understood as OTB--classical. Would recommend correcting this as well as I am sure this was unintentional.

Both GM Ashwin and Master are just for fun! I like confusing people. Most of my friends think i have the master title lol its funny. And about my FIDE, I am going to a tournament, and from that I will get a classical. Once I get the classical I will change my FIDE.

Here are two people who have never reached 2300 but have the FM title: https://ratings.fide.com/profile/10669515

Their FIDE classical is lower than 2300 and they have never reached 2300.

Post #6---you can post your CFC rating as "National", but thus might not fit the image you are trying to project.

Post #7---why are you so jealous of others? You obviously can do research, but with a little more depth, you would have your answers. CM requires a 2000 rating, FM 2100.

Individual #1 earned both in Dec 2022, having finished T-5 (6/9) at 2208, gained 130 pts (tournament's largest gain), losses were to GMs, and secured his 1st IM norm!.

Individual #2 earned FM title in March 2017, top rating at 2163 in Nov 2019.

I am not surprised that you are focusing on such petty topics rather than your upcoming tournament.

You must have. misunderstood me. I am not "Jealous" of anyone but was just asking a simple question. I did research and got more confused and came here instead for a solution. I am not trying to project any image whatsoever. I get to choose whatever I put on my profile and it may be real or not just like some people have FIDE 3000 on their profile. But thank you for the info however! I do not understand what you mean by this though: "I am not surprised that you are focusing on such petty topics rather than your upcoming tournament." (#9)

Did you even read my comment? "Maybe they have a FIDE rating of only (lol only) 2100+ but have a tournament performance of 2300+?" You don't need a FIDE rating of 2300+, but 2100+.

Ye I read it Thank you!! Also do you know how many games they need to have a 2300+ performance in? Thanks!

You're welcome. And as for the other question, I am not sure.

Ok so I know I'm late but some people get the FM title through playing well in certain tournaments (ex. World Junior Championships) and if you get like third place you get rewarded the FM title.
