How do you analyse your own games?

Could anybody here (Master level or higherpreferably) advice me on how to run a scientific analysis of my own games?

what kind of factors make up a game analysis, when you want to discover your weaknesses, strengths, etc etc?

A checklist of that sort would be helpful

Tip #1 Look to see if you have been checkmated. A # sign after one of your opponent's moves is a dead giveaway. That would be the end of the game. Look at your last previous move to see if alternative moves might have prevented it.

What much stronger players look for isn't always useful (like pacing... and I don't mean the clock).

How much stronger players find alternate moves and evaluations isn't always possible (you need a certain knowledge base).

Still, it would be interesting to hear from a master.
