Many of you guys reading this page want to achieve the GM title, so do I. But in order to achieve this, you need to put allot of effort and your mindset has to be right. I have made10 tips you need to be a GM:
1. Deliberate practice (minimum 1 hour 30 min per day);
2. Buying courses to learn;
3. If a move looks like its good, still look for others;
4. Don't think for a move for more than 10 min, other ways its a bad move ~ Vladimir Kramnik;
5. Don't think about the previous games, think about the current one ~ Viswanathan Anand;
6. Don't waste time with playing games, instead do your puzzles or analyze your games;
7. Many people think that its ok to lose against good people. That's not true, you have to be merciless ~ Magnus Carlsen;
8. Study other games played by GM's and IM's, they can also be retired or dead. For example: GM's: Anish Giri, Magnus Carlsen, Vassily Ivanchuk, Hikaru Nakamura, Garry Kasparov, Viswanathan Anand and Paul Morphy. Sorry, I forgot myself IM's: Levy Rozman, Eric Rosen, Danny Rensch and Nico Zwirs;
9. Always look for checks, captures and attacks. Also look for what and why your opponent played the move;
10. Last but not least, I beg you, NEVER EVER RESIGN
I hope this was useful for you, but if you want to do it on your own way, do it. I just gave my opinion. By the way, tell if you know a IM, because I didn't type allot for them. Well, I wish you a successful chess journey to the GM title!
