How do you offer a draw to a bot? I don't see a button that says "Draw" on it

MariasWhiteKnight

You can stop playing against a bot at any point since its an unrated game and bots have infinite patience.

That's not an option.

New game

q-w-e-r-t-y-u-i-o-p

put the bot into a position where if it moves in a certain way you can stalemate it, if it moves in that way then that's pretty much like the bot accepting a draw

MerlinTheWizar

Chess.com should change this, especially for the higher players.

spinwave

Need a draw button, even against bots.

significantpeanut

you cant

Chesssyington88
You can’t, if you want to end the game there has to be a decisive result. If you want to start a new game quickly then you can just resign if you don’t want to play on since losing to bots does not lose you rating and it doesn’t save on your game history unless you choose to keep it.

Oh I get it good point thx.

No you can‘t. How would the bot decide whether to accept the draw or not? The bot can‘t objectively evaluate the position since it is not meant to do that. if it would just analyse the position like an engine and let‘s say that it would always take a draw if the evaluation is between +0,5 and 0,5 after move 20 which are fairly reasonable parameters it would still take draws in incredibly complex positions where no human would accept a draw ( maybe because they have an initiative or something) Engines can‘t really identify complex positions or initiatives.

you don't.

SacrifycedStoat
Just plug the position into stockfish. If you are winning then they accept
MerlinTheWizar

really?

Zxy99yxZ
@SacryficedStoat what if you are not winning and it‘s just a dead draw? The engine can‘t recognise dead draws. it can evaluate a position but it can‘t evaluate how draw-ish a position is.
analist76bis

why do you need a draw in a bot game? you are afraid of not loosing nothing... go to other sport..chess is not for you

analist76bis

what you loose in case you lost the game with bot....why to try to make a draw?

MerlinTheWizar
