it is an option that comes in live chess . sometimes its there sometimes not . 

And, there are many options that are on the website but not on the app

The variants, other than 960, are only available on the website.

- upper left, click play
- then at the top of the list, click Play again
- upper right, where it says "Standard", click the dropdown and choose "Crazyhouse", then pick other options
- realize that there aren't many people doing it, so it's tough to get a game unless there's a tournament

You are delusional. Yes, there are not THAT many people playing it, yet there's ALWAYS somebody that I can play against. I play day and night, for hours. And I've never had any problems with finding an opponent.

You can get the achievements by playing the variant under Play on the website, but not the Variants server.
