Also info about premium members would be fantastic, but not necessary!
How many active members on Chess.com?

I don't have those statistics in front of me, but last I heard chess.com has roughly 90 million accounts and roughly 20 million "active members." For this definition, I believe "active" means "has played a chess game within the last 90 days."
So a good estimate is 20 million active members on chess.com

Not sure, but other chess.com mods or staff might know.

Im gonna go with 4
Hey! I couldn't give my love to some of your comments because the thread was closed. They were great comments.
Chess is a cult!

The site likes to boast about the 90+ million members, but thats like bragging dead people voted for you.
Or the undead. In my country, a lot of zombies vote.

You need to define active.
played a game in the last 90 days
I consider myself inactive if I miss a week.

I'm wondering about this for research. It's surprisingly hard to find a concrete answer to this. Thank you in advance!!
"engaging or ready to engage in physically energetic pursuits"
I think most people are sitting down when on chess.com, so I will say about 20

This information is likely just an inference based on the rapid global leaderboard.
Since that includes all Rapid players with at least 20 games in the last 90 days (I believe inclusion on leaderboards matches percentile requirements), then that is a lower bound of recently active members; currently just over 26 million. That doesn't include those members that don't play rapid, are muted, or play fewer than the required number of games over that time period so could easily be off by a decent margin.
It might be possible to get an estimate of premium, if you're into coding, by using the API and query large open clubs and calculate the percentage of members in those with premium. If you do enough of those, you might get in the ballpark .

Here's some information you may find useful.
Apparently your leaderboard stats only count players active in the last 3 months, so you can use that get a rough idea of active players per time control. Would be hard to get an accurate overall number since there's so much overlap.

If I divide my Rapid rank ( #349775) by (1-percentile [.027]), I get about 13 million active members. Doing the same thing with my Daily rank adds about 3 Million. However, there is some double counting.
In the following link, Chess.com does give some data (you have to toggle between Rapid, Daily, etc.), but the Rapid data are inconsistent with my rank and percentile.

Yes, this is just an estimate based on the global leaderboard. I haven't counted each member, or else I'd be here for a while

If it's really important to you, the link that I gave earlier provides rating distribution curves. You can add up the number of players at each rating interval. I did it for Rapid, and it came to about 13.5 million, which is consistent with my earlier calculation.

The leaderboard has the total listed.

But you only used Rapid? You realize some people exclusively play blitz or daily etc.
It's hard to imagine there are 20 million "active" members. If we define active as playing on at least 10 different days in a month, for at least 3 consecutive months, then I'm imagining something more like 500,000.
Sure this is not a good criteria for advertisers or leaderboards, but it's closer to what most people are thinking of when they ask this question.

....
Rapid gives a lower bound based on the activity criteria of at least 20 games in the pool in the last 90 days.
Sure you can define active in any way you want, which will change the numbers.
There are over 300,000 members online right now and almost 12 million games have been played in the last 24 hours.
