How many hours of chess should I be playing

2 hours/day is excellent.
That gives time to solve 4 tactics puzzles, play a 15|10 rapid game, and analyse it thoroughly if you lose it, or otherwise study an annotated grandmaster game, or an endgame.
1 hour/day is still good. That gives time to solve 4 tactics puzzles and play a 15|10 rapid game. Then the next day analyse it if you lost it or otherwise study an annotated grandmaster game, or an endgame.

Ensure you are enjoying your chess practice. If it starts to feel like a chore, you may need to adjust your routine.

If you're trying to improve your chess skills, you could play 10 hours a day if you really want and you would probably improve faster than if you played 8 hours a day, assuming you're actually giving effort all those 10 hours. Might not be enjoyable or healthy, and you might hate chess and quit all together, but I don't think it'll necessarily be counter productive to your skill development if you're really disciplined.
However improving your chess skills and improving your chess rating are different. If you want to rating climb, play only when you're fresh, even if it's only one game a day. You'll see most of the successful climb to 2000 video series involve the player only playing one or two rated games a day, then spending the rest of the day on study or unrated play. Chess.com does allow a second account with approval btw, good if you want to matchmaking but don't want to ruin the rating your building (https://support.chess.com/en/articles/8568381-can-i-have-multiple-accounts).
sometimes playing more hours in a day or just more really doesn't improve you --its just more of something you can't help but not do
I play chess for about 1 hour a day, I go to school which goes for 7 hours. I also play 2 hours a day, is this to little, to much or just right? If to much can you tell me how long I should be playing.
