how many players in blitz chess have rating more than 1200 in chess.com ?

yes I was wrong in numbers. around 20% players have over 1200 rating in blitz chess. and only 6% have more than 1500 rating.

so yes 80% players are below the starting 1200 rating level in blitz .

According to the chart about 6% of players have more than 1650 rating but about 42% have more than 1150 rating. Make sum of all ranges from 0 rating to the treshold rating and divide it by sum of all values (829222 if I did not make a mistake). If you don't believe me then place a cursor on top of that "peak" on the chart. You will see the vertical line from the cursor to the horizontal axis, splitting the surface under the curve (sorry for wrong terminology...) to two with about same area - thus count of players below that value is about the same as count of players above that value of 1100 rating.

Why is a count of players on that chart only 829222 and not 1637443?

only 350000 players above 1150 out of total 1634952 , around 21%.

If you make a sum of the values from chart you will not get 1634952 but only 829222 and 350000/829222 = 42%. Something is wrong either with the player count on the left or the values in the chart

I started playing back in Feb. I am currently 1180. The stats page says that's the 75th percentile with about 725,000 people out of the 3.6 million users there or above. Three minute blitz has been my game lately because I get impatient waiting for moves to be made. Lichess percentiles are alot lower, it seems they have alot fewer beginner players.

Blitz is sometimes the most beautiful form of chess. Think about it,classic  is boring, Bullet is savage.blitz and rapid just falls between it .

My 5mn blitz rating on chess.com has varied between 1100 and 1230 over the past few months. The only thing I know is that when I reach 1200 I am in the20% top players. But I don’t know how many players that represents. It’s a chess.com well-kept secret I guess…

Huh? I'm 1300 in blitz and 1250 in Rapid, and I'm already in the 90th percentile. Only around 10% of players are better than me. I'm just a beginner that had only played this game for about one year. I agree it isn't really a good rating, but I'm happy with a +700 elo gain in a year.

6 years later 1172 guy in blitz is at 87 percentile and out of huge 19 million players. thats 12 percentile jump for same rating.

However players at 1700 are capable of beating 2000+ players
