how many points do you get for a win?

I get only 7-11 points per win, is that normal?

If you beat players that were much below your level, (that you are expected to beat) you can get usually 5-7 points. If you win when a draw was expected, about 8, maybe 8 or 9. 10 or 11 is beating someone you were expected to loose agsint.

If you play and beat someone 500 points beneath your level, sometimes you can only win 2 or so points.

Same deal for loosing. And for drawing games.

Does that help?

Also I think it is 5-6 for an easy win, 7-8 for an expected draw-level.

Thank you that is very helpful, I was just worried I wasn't getting enough points for a win

Well a new or inactive account gets lots (in the 10's or 100's) for the first few games so that it can find your ideal rating. But that ends after a few games

Alright thanks

So what determines an 8 point vs a 9 point win when a draw is expected???

The first few games are like rank up games. They give much more ELO.

The first few games you play, you may win/lose more than 100 points. Then it slowly decreases to about 7-9. (If you play against a lower rated player, you get fewer points for winning, and vice versa.)
