I love chess but as we all know chess can be really time consuming depending what activities you do e.g. playing in open tournaments.
When it comes to our community there a variety of different people:
some people just enjoy chess in general and play some bullet or blitz here and then online or in their chess club and apart from that don't train that much
some people study books to learn tactics, strategy, openings, use online tactics trainer etc. to improve their skills
some people are more competitive and play open tournament, team competitions for their chess club etc.
some people take part in activities of their chess club, give training to youngsters, organize tournaments or club events ...
and so on and so on
Many players fall into one or a combination of these categories.
These days I play less chess than in my youth because of work. Tournaments longer than one day are mostly impossible. But I do regularly visit my chess club on fridays where Rapid and Blitz tournaments take place. Regarding my chess training, at the moment I'm studying endgames with a book on saturdays for about 1-1.5 h.
What about you? How much time and effort do you invest in chess?
