How often do you make a Mistake?

Depends on what qualifies as a mistake, and whetehr it's subjective or objective. Subjectively, if I make a move and my opponent takes advantage of it, I made a mistake; if he doesn't, then I didn't. Objectively if a move would theoretically fail, then I made a mistake whether my opponent capitalized on it or not. I would say I make a lot of very minor mistakes in any given game. Usually a major mistake effectively ends the game and one is all it takes.

Sorry I guess I didn't term "mistake" correctly. My most common mistakes are overlooking something, usually ending up in me losing my queen :@, those are the sorts of mistakes I am taloking about
I wouldn't consider it a mistake if I make a move, and if my opponent sees my plan, stops it. That isn't a mistake in my books.

That's very true of me,I too have started to take full advantage of the analysis board :D

"How many mistakes do you make per game, or per x ammount of games?"
It's hard to say, because in quiet middlegames or complex endgames, there's no simple way to divine the best move.

In chess lingo, that's known as a blunder. At 2' + 12" blitz against a similarly rated opponent, I probably blunder a piece every dozen games, and miss two or three tactical sequences every game, on average.

Myself and my friend George are always making silly mistakes in our gamers (about 2 a game, unfortunately), and I wondered how we compare to the rest of the chess.com inhabitants.
