How often do you rage in a chess match? When do you rage?

For me I only rage if I am winning but lose on time, and I curse and slam the laptop shut. tongue.png

How about you guys? Do you do the same thing?

GM_chess_player

lol

How do you rage?

Just played a blitz game.  Was so close to raging because I thought I was gonna lose. Saved it though. Phew!

Rage quitting is actually a good idea. If you are on tilt, you’re not playing your best chess. Half of chess is being in right frame of mind so if you find yourself still playing when you’re irritable, do yourself a favor and back off for a while or else you’re likely to end up in a long losing streak.

Lol. I remember one time my opponent was winning but I flagged him and he said in the chat "f**k you"

GM_chess_player

huh, I reported the guy. lol

I rage whenever I tilt, and I tilt quite frequently. I let my emotions out by cursing like hell, slamming my laptop shut and punching stuff. I remember once when I raged so much that I punched the switch board near me and I obliterated it lmao

No rage from me

Get mad, stay mad. That’s my philosophy. I got so angry last night at one game where I blundered away a knight, I didn’t even have to resign; I just threw my computer out the window.

Just like the old days: when in doubt, flip the board so nobody knows who would’ve won.

Never.

I am in my late childhood (64 years old) and no longer throw tantrums.

Would "tantrums" be the right word to describe rage?

A tantrum is when you throw a fit usually to obtain something. Raging, isn't used to obtain something. It is just you expressing your emotion in a (possibly violent) way.

And of course, we usually stop throwing tantrums when we reach our teens, or young adulthood.

I slap my neighbours' dog whenever I lose.
