Some (very few) of the present rules were fixed in the 19th century, some in the 20th, some in the 21st. For example, the current form of the 50-move rule may be dated as late as 2001. But the bulk of the game in present form was invented in the late 1400s.
How old is chess?(I don’t know, that’s for sure.) even though I know it was around in Anglo Saxon times it was definitely before then.I think it was around the 6th century but I might be wrong so if I am feel free to tell me in the comments. Also I bet you will find this weird:in Italy every 2 years, on the second week of September people gather up and play people chess! Sounds weird, but it’s true! It has happened since 1923. People chess explained: some go on model horses with wheels and some are pawns, queens, etc. Pretty weird but cool, right? I will definitely try it when I’m older!
