Here is how to attack a castled King:

1. Get a few hundred people and some atomic bombs

2. Go back in time to the middle ages

3. Bomb the castle

4. Get the king inside the castle, and attack him.

hope that helps

The middlegame isnt always about attacking the king.  the first thing you need to do in the middlegame is develop a game plan.  Here is a quick easy way to do that, and obviously it can, and does get more complicated than this.

Middle game:

When you have completed the Opening Principles, you are now at the middle game.  Now you need to formulate a middle game plan.  The middle game is a very complicated part of a chess game.  A simple way to develop a middle game plan is to perform the following steps.

1.      Scan your opponents 5th, and 6th ranks (3rd, and 4th if your black)

2.      Look for weak pawns, and or weak squares.

Ø  Weak pawns and squares are Pawns, and squares that cannot be defended by another Pawn.

Ø  Knights are excellent pieces on weak squares.

Ø  When deciding on weak squares, and weak Pawns to attack, the closer to the center the better

First, every opening, has at least one middlegame plan for White and Black.  These plan(s) are controlled by the pawn structure that results from the opening.  Superimposing tactics and strategies allowing you to attack the castled king will probably cause you to lose the game.  The reasons for not superimposing tactics and strategies are that  the  pawn structure  forms the landscape of the  battlefield.  The pawn structure is the  hills, valleys and mountains of the battlefield.  It would  not be wise to superimpose  tactics and strategies that call for a plan to  go thru a mountain in order to attack  the castled king.

It is much better to learn the  opening and  the  corresponding middlegame plans and  pass thru  to expected endgames.
