Read about centralizing your pieces. And learn how to centralize your pieces in your chessgames. That makes it easier for you to start again playing chess. It's a common law for playing good chess, but also the most important one.
Of course Nimzowitsch wrote about centralizing as he was the man who discovered the importance of centralizing. You can find and read that anywhere on the Internet. But other info must be there too about centralizing your pieces. It is important because with centralizing your pieces in the right way, makes your pieces employ their maximal power. And that's the best way to win your games.
Always playing first for having the upper hand in the center, that's a form of centralizing. And only attacking after having won the battle for the center. But centralizing is a lot more than only this.
Good luck and enjoy your game !
Hello all, new to this forum.
I'm not a good player by any means but I used to have fun playing chess back in the 80's, fun is the key word, and haven't touched the game since (I may be near 1500 at the most). I would love to develop and become a better player.
I am going to join a local chess club this Friday but I was wondering what else I should do? Are there books I should get? Computer programs? I'm willing to do it.
Thank you so much for your suggestions and this excellent forum.
