If you beat someone, you get their final number of points as tiebreaker points and if you draw you get 1/2 of them. For instance:
Player A beats Player B and ties Player C
Player B Beats Player C and loses to Player A
Player C Ties Player A and loses to Player B
Thus, the table:
1. Player A - 1.5 points
2. Player B - 1.0 points
2. Player C - .5 points
But, there is tiebreaker:
1. Player A - 1.5 Points (1.0 (beat Player B) + .5 (Tied Player C, so gets half of their points) = 1.5 TB)
2. Player B - 1.0 Points (1.0 (beat Player C) + 0.0 (Lost to Player A) = 1.0 TB)
3. Player C - .5 Points (.75 (Tied Player A) + 0.0 (Lost to Player B) = .75 TB)
That is how Tiebreakers Work. Of course, there isn't a tie in this position, I just wanted to demonstrate how the points worked.
Hey guys I always wondered how do tiebreaks work in tournaments, and I went to a FAQ article and read how they work, but how to actually calculate them? Would be interesting to know cz I'm playing a daily tourney where I have 18 tiebreak points and there are 3 people that might qualify (me and two others) so I just wanted to know... any instructive answer would be much appreciado!
