how to castle in this 960 position

Could you explain why? I don´t see the problem of castling to the g-site. The King already is on the right place and the rook in the corner could just jump ofer the king and would also be in his normal place.

I can't really explain why. But in this particular set up of Chess 960 you are playing, you can only castle to the other side of the board.

Ok, but how do you know?

Drag the king to the rook you want to castle with. If all other castling requirements are met, the rook and king will end up on the squares they normally would in standard chess.

It looks like the left rook isn’t clear of the castling because that’s where the right rook would end up. It’s castling queenside. I can tell because of the color of the square the left rook is on.

I entered the game, played around with the analysis and realized castling is only one side in that set up. You can try it out.

Yes, I did. And it´s strange, because I thought the endcastling positions were the same like in the normal chess. But here, if you castle to the "queenside" the king is on b1 and the rook on c1.

It's possible there's a bug. I put the position in an analysis board and I can't get castling to work on either side, after making sure the requirements are met

Thanks for the work! I think, my opponent will face the same problems, so it´s not a disadvantage

it just goes to the normal caste position on queenside or kingside
Not for me and not for Martin_Stahl it seems....
In file a, queen's rook; in file b, king; in file d, king's rook? Castle queen side, king at c file, queen's rook in d file; castle king side, king at g file, king's rook at f file. The king's rook has to move out of the way to castle queen side.

I was wrong and was looking at the position incorrectly.
In the image in the first post, the king is on the b-file. In order to castle in the a-file direction (queen-side for standard chess), the rook on d8 can't be there, since that's where the a-rook would go, so that square is not available.
To castle in the other direction, there could be no other pieces on c8, e8, f8, or g8.
I´ve problems to castle here. But for me it seems that the rules are fulfilled. Neither Rook(s) nor King have moved. Nothing is in between them, the field for the rook is free, there is no check on these fields, but I´m not able to castle. I think it should be the rook in the corner has to go to f8 and the King stands still. I tried everything, grabbing the King to put it over the rook, taking the rook to put it on f8, I even took the other rook. But nothing helps. Don´t want to loose a game because I´m not able to castle.
