How to enjoy chess?

According to your stats, you've only played 6 games here.

I would suggest playing more.

Nobody 'likes' to lose.

But really, winning or losing is only a side-effect of the game.

Most of the game you don't even know if you are going to win or lose. So, winning or losing can have no affect on how you feel about the game.

It is only that one little moment, once the game is completed that you don't like.

So, you should be asking yourself, how can I reduce the number of times I have to deal with losing.

if you have to ask how to enjoy it, then it's not for you.  why are you playing it in the first place? be honest with yourself and ask yourself why you are playing chess?  is it to be better than others? is it because you see the beauty in how the pieces move?

seriously, if you aren't having fun, perhaps it's not for you.  It's just a game, if you only like it when you win, then you don't really like chess, you just like winning at things.

why don't you find something you actually enjoy? if you keep playing chess and keep losing you will be another person who disconnects or taunts or cheats.

quit chess, again, it's just a game, there are plenty of other fun things you can do.

In order to play any game, you must be willing to accept defeat. No good player at this game hasn't lost hundreds, if not thousands, of games over the course of play.

If you can't accept defeat, you should just quit; you're going to lose games, whether you study or not.

If you can accept this fact, you can focus on the finer points of the game, and begin to enjoy it more.

You will improve very slowly if all you do is play live games and don't analyze afterward. If you want to improve faster you need to learn tactical patterns efficiently through study.

Chess can keep your mind sharp.

Learn tactical pattern and their hidden motif, and you sure going to start to win. That's what i'm doing right now.

Study Shirov, Tal, Alekhine and Kasparov.

Master the complex silent sacrifice and become a deadly tactician.SealedLaughing

Incorrect, sir. You must always know you will beat your opponent. Self-confidence is vital. Obviously I am not referring to over-confidence, but you have to play ready to OWN SUM NEWBS!!

As uncomfortable as it sounds, I think you have to be willing to lose a lot to mold yourself into your best player. Just keep a good spirit, take a break from the game when necessary.
