How to get good at shogi

I am pretty good at playing chess an destroy everyone in the chess and shogi (Japanese chess) club at my college. However, I am a beginner to shogi and thus I get beaten a lot by the club leader who has been playing it for years. There is a shogi tournament coming up after Christmas and I would like to get to the finals and have a shot at winning but I don't know where to start! I know the three basic castles - anaguma, yagura and mino but other than that tactic wise i'm clueless. Does anyone know some good websites I can study or other resources.
