Understanding what to study is important.
At your level you're still not able to see the whole board and will hang pieces every game. I would suggest that until you reach 1000 elo just do lots of tactics trainer to train your pattern recognition, it would be otherwise difficult to study strategy and other material without being able to see what's going on.
Look at "CT-ART" on the app/play store or on your browser, it costs a little bit of money but it makes you play the same tactics over and over again, this is because training this way is what will develop your pattern recognition. Also, don't spent more than 5 minuets per tactic, this is because you want to get through a large number of puzzles to train your pattern recognition and not just a few. If after 5 minuets you still don't know the right move then just make what you think is the best move and if you're wrong then oh well, you'll be corrected.
If CT-ART is too difficult then just try some normal chess.com tactics trainer but apply the same principal of no more than 5 minuets spent thinking per tactic.

Simple. Play fast so you can Play as much as you can. This means you should bullet exclusively. Ignore the crap about long games. You will learn more the more the games you Play. Thinking quickly Forces you to memorize the patterns. That is all chess is. Also, bullet is actually FUN, instead of staring at a board that moves like it is stuck in geologic time.
This is simply bad advice. You won’t get good at chess, you’ll get good at dirty flagging and bullet tactics like being able to play fast “good” (not best) moves.

The question was How To Learn To Play Chess FAST. Not everyone wants to be as incapable of quick thinking as yourself.
Well, this is a situation where the same sentence means two different things! The OP could have meant
1. How to learn to play chess fast
2. How to learn to play fast chess
We’ll have to wait until the OP clear that up! Also, I never said I don’t play bullet. It’s super fun and trains quick thinking, but when you think fast like that, you’re more likely to not find best moves, which can hurt your chess more than help it. Bullet will stunt your growth when you’re just starting out.

Hi!
The fastest and easiest way to improve is to hire a coach, but that’ll cost you a decent amount. For self study, you’d want to create a balanced study program that included playing games and analysis of them afterwards, solving puzzles, learning simple endgame techniques like checkmates, promoting pawns, opposition, passed pawns, and a few rook endgame concepts, and learning (and following!) Opening principles such as developing quickly and controlling the center squares of the board, limiting pawn moves to only a few early on, king safety like castling early, trying to move a new piece each turn early on, and some strategic ideas for the middle game like pawn pointing theory. Over time you’ll want to learn additional and advanced information, but early on the above will keep you busy for awhile.
If you’re fluent in English, as I’m your typical American who can’t speak anything but English unfortunately, I’d be happy to meet up in a Chess.com classroom and go over some of the chess basics with you, answer any questions you may have, and help you develop a study program for self study. We could eventually even go over your games together to figure out what you’re doing right and what you need to avoid doing in the future. If you’re interested you can message me and we’ll find a time that works. Free offer, no hidden attempts to get any money from you or anything, I enjoy sharing my chess experiences with others and helping them get better at the game and more enjoyment from it.
Regardless, welcome to Chess.com’s community- Chess is a great timeless game, I hope you fall in love with it!

There is 0 chance to learn chess quick or easy. If your attention span is limited just enjoy chess while you do and move on to the next thing.
To become good give it 10 years, to become close to master, give it 20. Prodigies have a faster route, but those are rare.

If you bothered to go into the profile of the person you’re challenging, you’d see that he doesn’t play online chess. It’s highly unlikely he’ll start with you.

First know your basic mates: your K+Q, K+R, and K+P. Then work on tactics and spend as much time working out the puzzles as you can. The more tactics you practice the faster you will improve; I had a friend who went from 1300 to 1900 in a single year through a heavy emphasis on tactics!

if you have no idea how to play decently, you're not really going to improve by playing bullet (or at least I'd assume)

I have my own take on this, so I'll copy-paste an answer I wrote at a previous topic thread:
Experience helps improve your thinking efficiency, and there really isn't a substitute for it. When starting out, slow and steady wins the race. It's best to calculate every single possibility (both for you and your opponent) in order to prevent miscalculations, which are very common for a beginner. This method is energy intensive and time consuming, but it works. If you calculate every single move, then there is nothing to miss. This is a main reason why it is commonly suggested to play slower time controls.
Unfortunately, we don't get unlimited time when playing chess. But calculation is like riding a bike: the more you do it the better you get at it. So in chess, more experienced players would take shortcuts based on educated guesses to save time and energy. For example, if my opponent's intentions are to fork my king and queen, I would disregard most other moves and focus on defending that specific fork.
The more you play, the more situations like the aforementioned you are exposed to. The more positions you are exposed to, the more you are able to apply shortcuts and improve your efficiency.
