How To Play Bullet Of 30 Seconds?

when you play 30 second does a bit get added on with each move? Ive not looked at this type of chess.
What exactly is the point of a 30 second chess game?
to have fun
Oh, OK. I prefer my fun in larger doses that last for hours sometimes instead of seconds.

Bortnyk - CHECKMATE!

two main reasons for hyperbullet:
- you want to win on the clock & call that being 'good at chess' because well, you're not.
- you're a top speed player like carlsen or andrew tang & able to keep up with the pace.
spoiler alert... most people are ones. 🙂
I do agree with your assessment, but I think it can have some benefits...
I believe it sharpens your reading of the opponent intentions in a time scramble. Sometimes it's unclear if they are trying to play fast and accurate and at what point exactly does it become just "random moves to get the flag"...
Well, if you know to identify the random panic moves before they come, you can counter them more effectively...
Also sometimes I lose a ton of 1+0 rating so I play some 30 sec to gain it back quickly... idk...
Also it surprises opponents because some of them try to play these "slow flagging" on you when they dominate, then they slip up and still calm thinking "ah this 1400 can't push a pawn 6 squares and mate in under 4 seconds"... well yes I can...
It's some kind of training... Not on how to win on the clock but on how to not choke when losing on the clock, and how to keep playing active even when things aren't going great... And how to be able to throw reactive punches back in 0.2 seconds at those who play dirty and not be just "oh my god whaaat did he play???" and lose 5 seconds like all the "geniuses"... it's a form of defense if you will... And no one thinks they are 'good at chess' in any event...
